A New Era Begins

As the end of the semester draws ever nearer, many of Unity's more senior members are gearing up for internships and graduation. Tuesday marked the last Unity meeting for a lot of the members. While this is bittersweet, Unity is VERY happy to announce 

the beginning of a New Era!

Upcoming Unity Events!

Wow! What an excellent couple of weeks. 

Unity was privileged enough to participate at 

Late Night in the Phog 

on October 12 and 

KU's Stop the Hill Step Show 

on October 20.

Both of these events were incredibly fun and we want 

to thank everyone who came to these events and supported us! 

We're just over the half-way point in the Fall 2012 

semester and have a lot of events yet to come.

• TUESDAY October 30, Unity will be performing in front of the Granada around 7:30pm. This is a fun, Halloween-themed routine, so if you get a chance to come and see us, it will be very fun!

• On November 4, Unity is auditioning for KU's Got Talent. We are very excited, and if we are accepted, we will compete in KU's Got Talent on Friday November 30. 

• Finally, Unity is hosting our year end Winter Showcase at 7pm in Woodruff Auditorium. This event will showcase all of the group numbers we have been working on this year, several solo routines, and a host of smaller groups. This is the culmination of all the things we work on throughout the semester, so we hope to see you there! This will be a free event, however, we will be accepting donations for the Boys and Girl's Club of Lawrence as you enter.

LATE NIGHT IN THE PHOG

Unity Dance Crew is once again performing at Late Night in the Phog on Friday October 12, 2012!

Late Night is the official kickoff to the KU basketball season and we are very happy to be back in Allen Field House!

Please come out to celebrate KU basketball and to support Unity Dance Crew!

Doors open at 5:30 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm.

Questions about Auditions?

Questions about Auditions?

What to wear to the audition:

Comfortable dance clothes

What to bring:

You're not responsible for bringing anything with you; we will have a sign in sheet and will give you a number to wear for your audition

How long will the audition take?

Theoretically, the audition could go until 10pm. We will make a few cuts throughout the night

When will I know if I have or haven't made the team?

All decisions regarding who has been accepted as a member will be made Tuesday night

Do I need to have any choreography prepared?

Not necessarily. There is a section where you can freestyle in the dance you will learn but if you feel more comfortable preparing something or a least an idea, you are welcome to do so.

All styles of dance are welcome to audition

At the audition, you will learn a combination and will have an opportunity to showcase your own personal style during a freestyle section of the routine. 

Should you make it through the first round of the audition, you will participate in an interview with the president and vice presidents as part of the audition.

All decision about new members will be made on TUESDAY, so you will know by the time you leave the audition if you have been accepted to the team or not.
